Lepak Sunday

Mission of the day: Picnic + lunch.

Activities: Uno (that one game took forever to finish! :) ), batu serembat a.k.a five stones - one of the many Malay traditional games (that i still couldnt master...so reminiscing memories of post-exams in school!!), fed the fishes, ducks, birds. And played frisbee.

Now, speaking of frisbee...

Rescue mission: Wayward frisbee that landed in the middle of the Symphony Lake!!

We became the 'live entertainment' of the rescue mission. Alas, after the rescue of the 1st buoy (yes, that poor buoy somehow got stranded near the frisbee). But it was brought back on land with the help of the tent's poles. Tho, I'm sad to announce that rescue mission FAILED.

But, i had fun. :)

fishy update

Just in case you wondering what happened to the 14 fishes, they died. I'm not that very very sad cause i didnt name all of them. Its pretty hard when 4 look exactly the same!

I'm so excited picnic this Sunday!

New toys

So my W550i screws decided to unscrew themselves Monday morning while charging...and i'm still wondering how that happened! Cause the screws are located inside the swivel!

Owned it since boxing day, 2005. I remember cause that was the day i tripped, my right ankle swelled up and for the first time, doc gave me MC (the very next day) for something else other than the normal ailments.

Anyway, was considering a couple of models for replacement and i finally decided on D900. From the so-user-friendly, to the loud speakers+loads of memory, now to the super sleek+slim.

From at least >100mb internal memory down to 70mb internal memory, of course incomparable. The downside so far (i hope its the only one!) is the sound level of the ringing tone...very soft. But the bestest about D900 is the 3Mp camera. To see the fone's camera to auto-adjust...very awed a.k.a jakun...nuff said. :)

Oh yeah, another toy to introduce too! Went to the fair last week with Farah and got the eye massager. It was on a 'weekday promo' price from $58 down to $39.90! Verdict: gentle vibrations, wave and pulse. Itches the nose too, cause of the vibrations but the whole eye area does feel relieved (lighter) after the 3-5min session.

The promoter introduced the other more pricey model - according to him more popular than the one i was interested in. But i think to put it on is already funny looking, i dont need an additional wire from the eye massager to a remote la.

Next up is replacement for my digicam pulak. My S40 is so not reading the inserted memory card la! I'm looking at W80. Btw, you know theres a PC Show happening end May, right? :)

A day of fun!

The first-ever family carnival was fun! I was skeptical at first, but honestly i enjoyed myself!

Helped out at the game booth (for an hour) and it was super busy!

After the hour was up, 4 of us booth-hopped from one booth to the next super noisily 'woo hoo'-ing away! To the point of someone telling us, 'i dont kno what you guys had but you have just so much energy!' funny ok!

Played 'catch as many fishes as you can in 1 minute' game (its the tiny fishes that are food to the bigger fishes). With Yati & Farah's help, we caught 14 fishes!

Took pics with 2 characters from 'Happy Feet' (thank you Farah for editing the pics! The caption there is 'When penguins meet humans, Penguins are at stake!!'. Got VCDs, a book, miniature perfumes, powder puffs and more picnic mats!! (i am so ready for this 27th la ppl!)

All purchased with coupon dollars that we got per ;)

Fucked up

I was in the train in the morning and the guy standing by the door in front of me was humming. He was humming loudly a song that i couldnt recognise. When i looked at him to check, his ears werent plugged in (!!!)

Oh well...

I know of characters in their own pathetic+insecure+sad little world that they think they can have whats NOT theirs to begin with.

That is so sad...so DELUSIONAL you are to the point that i cant laugh anymore.

Happy Mother's Day 2007!

Happy Mother's Day!! :)

Spent the day with moi mama. Didnt realise but after nearly 8 months (!!!), re-visited the foot reflexology place. It felt sooo good! My bruised knee (yes it was black&blue after the fall) was slowly massaged and it felt so syiokedelic baybeh!

Then headed here with my mum and aunt for early dinner here. They had a special 1 for 1 main course. The service staff was friendly. Food was a bit on the bland side for both my mum and aunt. But we all agree that the '(Beef) Satay Pizza' is yummylicious.

I said no to the recommended 'American Cheesecake' and had the not-quite-so-smooth, first spoonful of the blueberry sauce tasted like cough syrup (!!!) 'Panna Cotta' instead. Overall -it was still good, tho i've had absolutely smooth and melts-in-your-mouth yummy-ier ones before. :)

Resto Surabaya

It rained friday morning. And what happens when it rains? The ground gets slippery, and it just had to happen to me, on my way to work in the morning.

I fell down. I didnt land on my butt nor did i land on my arms. I landed on my knee. My right knee to be precise. Think the 'proposing' pose. There were others around me, some distance away. I remembered there were plenty of cars on the road. Kesian right? :(

And all the while, i was trying to get out of the way of uncle sweeper sweeping the wet fallen leaves. Just to be clear, the rain stopped then.

Anyway, i joined Yati and Haiz here after work and the ride in the cab , i tell you i was laffing so much! It was a very educational cab ride.

Uncle lyver was showing us his GPS in his cab. How by entering 'Y' space 'A' space 'R' (or ah-rer as spoken by Uncle lyver) and enter, u'll get 'Yung An Road'! very tech savvy right! And he answered our question on 'why when we need cabs, all of them are On Call' by explaining that in the olden days where cabs depended on walkie talkie from officers taking bookings, they'll get 50 bookings in a day. But now, with GPS installed in their cabs, they'll get 50 bookings in a minute! How interesting...

So there you go, a little cab info for you too! :)

Ok, time to apply 'minyak angin buah pala' (Nutmeg medicated cream) my mum bought in Melaka to my knee. It is super medicated la!

Deaf

JPB is scary. The local content of it is scary. I didnt even have time to look closely at the said 'strings'...cause I had my folded tissue in front of my eyes during the night scenes.

Ok, so minus the amateur-ish pasted-on nude colour wax paper, supposedly grotesque looking hands that look rubbery instead...it is scary.

Thanks to the supposed to be old but still effective many many sudden BAM sound effect.

Anyway, on another note.

The countless times i dozed while reclining on it...I'll miss you, dark green! Hope your new owner treats you well!

p.s: I have to mention this, something worth remembering. 'I'm not deaf! I just can't hear you!' *lol* Dont think too much of it cause its a private joke.

Friday

The day ended with the lot of us going here. A farewell to one of the few 'oldies'. I kno i'll miss his ass walking along the corridor.

Then when Farah and I was on the way for gelato, my mum called to say my uncle is in hospital. She told me to come home quick. Then 10 minutes later, mum called again to say he passed away.

He was there when 10 yr old me had to go SGH for my check up. He was there on the confirmation day so early in the morning, to give support to me and my mum. I stayed at his house for a whole month when we had to wait for our current place. He was the fixer and the driller of the house. He was also the adviser. I'll miss talking to him, calling me to check on spelling of english words for his work report. May his soul rest in peace and be blessed. Amin...

The madness!! i was in the queue for a good 20 mins...and that was for my ticket collection!

But the movie is good...the effects was Wow.

I caught a few goofs tho.
