When the emailer of them coming on 1st Dec, i wanted to go. First time after 40yrs! That day, i made it known among some that i want to go and asked if anyone wants to go with me. The response was none.
On the day before concert day, i made it known again that i want to go to another bunch of people and one voiced that shes interested and asked how much was the price. Later that day, someone asked if i received a mailer that the tickets are selling at 50% off. I was like, was this meant to be or what??!!!
I informed the interested other concert goer if shes still interested and she was even willing to pay for me. But my initial concert mindset was if i'm not getting the 2nd tier tickets, i'm not going. She on the other hand had this reasoning that if i'm not side by side with them, just get the lowest tier tix. So i told her to give me a night to think about it.
So i tried to convince myself that its ok to get the lowest tier as we will still be able to see them and still be enjoying ourselves.
So on the day itself, during lunchtime we got the tickets. The lowest tier, $75/tix. I was soooo looking forward to it!
Work day ended, we took a bus to the indoor stadium and had early dinner. Queued at the entrance to get in. After walking around the whole stadium to figure out where our seats were, we were seated. The lowest tier tix was at the balcony. The balcony was on the highest level of the venue. And there sat 3 others in the middle and us both on the far left. Yes, there were only 5 of us at the balcony...out of probably 300 seats. I couldnt believe it cause when we were getting the tix, the other seats were occupied and we only had the 2nd last row from the top to choose from.
Just as we shifted to another seat cause we realised the big screen angle was blocking our view of the drummer, an usher came up to inform us there has been some reshuffling of seats and told us to see another usher down 1 level. That level priced the $185 tix. My excitement level went up another notch.
And then we were shown to our reshuffled seats. Man was i a happy bee. We were at the last row, behind us was the walkway, other that an old man on the far right and a couple on the far left we the middle bit to ourselves!
They started with 'Boogie Wonderland'. That was the cue for me to boogie. And boogie i did, non-stop for 2 hours. The much thinking and considering was all worth it. :)
