Time to...

Ya'll need to shut up and grow up.

Be calm, just be calm

Lesson learned on the cab ride home yesterday.
The driver was probably in his early 60s. When i got on, i told him the destination, the exact route and he acknowledged with a 'thank you'.

When the cab turned into the expressway it started pouring. And he drove with confidence. So i switched *off* - looked at the rain, counted how many cars we passed.
And with that confidence too he went straight instead of turning into the exit that i had mentioned. He asked if its okay to turn into the other exit. Not wanting to make a fuss, I said okay.

But he turned an exit too early. Right after he asked me if he made the turn.

Yeah, kidding right. I was mad, silently though. Did a few *tsk* loudly. I didnt plan on screaming or yelling at an old man on my way home.

So i took a deep breath and told him (calmly) that he should have turned into exit that i mentioned. He apologised. I continued on saying he turned to the exact opposite direction and he should make a u-turn. He apologised again and said he'd stop the meter. Which he did. And passed me the receipt.

He did the u-turn and we were back on track.

I only realised the meter wasnt back on when it was the last turn. I alerted him. He said he knew and that its his fault.

Okay then i felt guilty for not noticing the meter wasnt back on earlier. Or at least.

Alerted where to stop and he continued apologising. I told him the normal fare that i pay and he said no, it wasnt fair. Insisted its his fault for not going the route i told him, that i should pay what was on the receipt, that its the same receipt that i would use to claim the fare.

Then he thank me for not yelling, screaming or raising my voice.

The lesson learned is - Its okay to remain calm.
